We can start with an initial session on the phone or on-line. This is free and usually takes between 20-30 minutes. It’s a chance for you to figure out whether I might be someone you feel you could trust and talk to…, and for you to ask any questions. If you are wondering about whether counselling might help your teenager or young adult, then the same process applies. It’s helpful for me to hear your worries about them, and for you to feel reassured about whether I might be the right person to work alongside them.
Sessions take 50 minutes.
Counselling sessions take place, face to face, on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Kinneskie Clinic in Banchory. This is a beautiful, warm, counselling space in Banchory; it has plenty of parking and is very discreet (at the end of the golf club car park). On other days of the week, I offer sessions in my lovely counselling room, at my home in Torphins. Again this is private and has parking. Details of the location will be given once an arrangement to proceed with counselling is in place. Once we’ve established a counselling relationship, then I’m happy for sessions to take place on-line, whenever that’s helpful.

Fees
There is no charge for our initial discussions. These can be arranged via phone or email and involve a 20-30-minute call or online meeting. This is an opportunity for you to talk about the issues you want to address and for us to agree the next steps of working together.
Individual sessions: £50
Concessions*: £40
Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer and should be made at the beginning or end of a session.
* Concessions are available so please ask. These generally apply to those not in work, students or anyone who would struggle to manage the weekly fee, and I’ll try to be as flexible as I can.
Cancellations
Wherever possible, I will try and offer an alternative session, if you can’t make it. However, if sessions are missed or a cancellation isn’t made within 24 hours, then a fee of £30 will be incurred.
